"The house must be a place of youthful nostalgia, sitting in the house, looking at the snow-white forest, feeling the warmth from the flickering fire next to the fireplace in the sunset." This architectural project was requested by tone of our clients. In Northern Europe it is easy, but right in the heart of Hanoi, it seemed to be... unthinkable.

Pulling nature with white snow and pine forests, created the feeling of Northern Europe according to the homeowner's wishes, into the urban space, encapsulated in a high-floor apartment, was the only way that architect Huy Pham and the construction company could do. 282 Design's wood work used the maximum features of wood, and wood solutions, to turn this utopia into reality.

By using soft curves, angular rules, all packed tightly in a concrete box, the urban atmosphere from the apartment entrance was created, leading the footsteps to a private, full space. Far away, the space looked as in the homeowner's nostalgic memories when he once lived and worked in Northern Europe. The architectural space and decoration of the apartment are therefore boldly different.
The first detail that evoked Nordic nostalgia was behind the closed door , which was the oak floor system with non-proportional dimensions: the feeling of each wooden block being wide and long, typical of ancient Nordic architecture, were arranged closely. Every other wooden block helped to form each other's a floor system that does not touch with each other.
This is 282 Design's new research that helps not using whole pieces of wood. It's just a technique of joining, locking, and laminating, but thanks to that, it creates a solid floor structure, resistant to impact, resistant to all weather conditions, and resistant to warping and deformation.

The blocks of concrete and townhouses were also resolved using only wood solutions. The partition system was made from wood, designed to be multi-functional, opening and closing, helping to divide the space between interior and exterior. Curved panels were used since wood is very easy to shape... and they were applied to the maximum in construction at every angle, turning dry concrete, narrow townhouses, into soft, flexible, multi-functional purposes.

From the current square box structure, combined with curves in wooden structures, applying multi-purpose open space, combining conventional images, helps to create a perfect interference between nature and people through every architectural detail. The structure is presented neatly, delicately and mobilely.
From there, the overall shape of the wooden house, even though it is in the tropics, feels like it is hanging out in the cold countries of Northern Europe.

Furniture for this project were designed and made specifically according to the criteria that each product should be a work of art, only to serve the specific use of this house. The technique of the wood solution, the beauty of the rustic wood grain, blending with the architectural space is the integration of Pop Art and Modern styles, created a beautiful, poetic, and nostalgic area, with pine forests and fireplaces. , snow and also full of personality, bold and different according to the homeowner's intention.
Only with clever improvisations and transformations in design techniques, production, and wood solutions, the problem of creating a nostalgic space was neatly solved.

The large sliding door system and glass walls created a snowy reflection, and the forest was represented by brush strokes across the opposing wall. With the skillfull improvisation, and a strictl control over details and wood structures in design, the entire house was like an interesting "symphony".
Covering everything in warmth, passionate love, and the beauty of perfection from architecture to interior was our purpose. This project was just an apartment in the city, but it was enough to evoke a beautiful, nostalgic region far away in Northern Europe full of nostalgia, and dear to its owner.
